Physical Education Teacher Education Admissions

All physical education teacher education students must apply to the NGCSU Teacher Education Program.  HPE students can enter the Teacher Education Program either Fall Semester of Spring Semester.  Admission to the program is required to enroll in the 3000-level and 4000-level professional education courses, PHED 3025 (Early Childhood Physical Education), PHED 3390 (Health Education), PHED 3400 (Adapted Physical Education), PHED 4010 (Creative Movement & Dance), and PHED 4025 (Middle & Secondary Physical Education Methods & Materials).

When to Apply for Admission

For all programs the teacher education sequence is three semesters long. Therefore, a student who expects to graduate in eight semesters should enter during their sixth semester (which means applying during the fifth semester).

Apply the semester before you wish admission.  Prospective transfer students can maximize their chance of being accepted and minimize their anxiety by meeting the North Georgia deadlines while still enrolled at their home institutions.  Transfer students are strongly encouraged to be advised by an HPERTEP advisor prior to the first semester to ensure accurate program sequence.
