NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION (INTRO & T-SOAR)

Congratulations on your acceptance to North Georgia College & State University! We strongly encourage all incoming students to attend an orientation session prior to their first semester at the university. At orientation you will receive an overview of all that North Georgia has to offer, meet with an Academic Advisor and build your schedule. There are several types of orientation programs available: INTRO, Express INTRO, T-SOAR and Parent INTRO.

INTRO - If you are a recent high school graduate that has been accepted to North Georgia as either a cadet or non-cadet student then INTRO is for you! New freshmen beginning in a fall semester will attend one of the two-day INTRO sessions offered during the summer. There is not an INTRO session for traditional freshmen entering the university during a spring or summer term. Thus, traditional new freshmen beginning in the spring or summer terms should enroll in the T-SOAR session for that term.

EXPRESS INTRO - This one-day orientation session offered in August is primarily for incoming cadets that are unable to attend a regular INTRO session as well as for international students. Additional students can be added to this session with special permission from the Director of First-Year Experience. T-SOAR -Incoming non-traditional freshmen and transfer students should register for this one-evening session prior to the first semester of enrollment. Freshmen students entering the university in the spring and summer should also attend T-SOAR as there is not an INTRO session for these terms.

PARENT INTRO - In addition to the summer INTRO sessions for new students, there is also a Parent Orientation session, which runs concurrent to each Student INTRO session, including the Express INTRO session. Please see the link located in the left gold column for more information. 

Orientation Registration Updates

Registration for the April 16th T-SOAR is now closed.  Registration for the Summer INTRO and T-SOAR sessions is now open!  Students will be able to register to attend an orientation session until 5 PM on June 24th when the registration site will temporarily shut down.  It is anticipated that the site will re-open on July 8th.

INTRO for Students Beginning Courses Summer Term 2013

The T-SOAR/INTRO date for all students starting in the Summer of 2013 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2013.  We encourage all first-time freshmen starting classes during the summer term to attend both the April 16th T-SOAR and one of the June two-day INTRO sessions.  It is recommended that all first-time freshmen enrolling during the summer look for courses during the second summer session.
