Chris Sharp, former head of education department, dies at age 83

(Nov. 29, 2012) — Christopher Samuel Sharp, former head of the education department at North Georgia College & State University, died Nov. 16 at his home in Venice, Fla., after a brief illness.

North Georgia to host exhibit from U.S. Holocaust Museum

(Nov. 26, 2012) — North Georgia College & State University is hosting the traveling exhibition "Fighting the Fires of Hate: America and the Nazi Book Burnings" produced by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The exhibition, which runs from Jan. 17 to March 15 at the university's Library Technology Center, and accompanying lecture series are free and open to the public.

North Georgia's School of Education earns national accreditation

(Nov. 12, 2012) — The School of Education at North Georgia College & State University has earned full accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for its undergraduate- and graduate-level teacher training programs.
