Description

The MAT Graduate Portfolio serves as a vehicle for monitoring individual candidate progress, for educating candidates with regard to professional standards, as a tool to aid reflection and development and as a documentation of knowledge and skills that can be shared with potential employers. The Professional Portfolio is aligned with the national standards and the NGCSU Metacognitive Model indicators. These standards are organized under the six domains included in the Georgia Framework for Teaching. Examples of artifacts that students may utilize in their portfolios include classroom management plans, reflections, teacher work samples, lesson plans, case studies and discipline specific projects. Artifacts that can be utilized in the portfolio are derived from classes and field experiences. Portfolio progress is reviewed throughout the second year of the program. Completed portfolios are reviewed at the end of internship by graduate faculty.
