Dr. Joyce Stavick
Joyce Stavick has been teaching at North Georgia since 2005. She holds the B.A. and B.S. Ed. degrees from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; the MA from South Dakota State University; and the Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She teaches grammar, linguistics, world literature, composition, and teaching methods for English Ed. majors. Her special interests include dialectology, linguistic criticism, and the works of Graham Greene and George Orwell. Her publications include studies of Dracula, the poetry of Linda Hasselstrom, the linguistics of metaphor, and onomastics. With Dr. Amy Childers Mansfield, she co-edited The Artist as Activist in Appalachia, published by the University Press of North Georgia.
