As director for the MS in nursing education concentration, Dr. Byrne has demonstrated leadership in curricular and instructional innovation.  Her clinical experience was in perioperative nursing and she had published extensively and serves on the AORN Journal Editorial Board.  She has served as National President for Competency & Credentialing Institute and is a strong advocate for continuing competency through certification in nursing.  Currently she is a Commissioner for the CNE credential with National League for Nursing (NLN).  She teaches faculty and nursing workshops addressing leadership, cultural inclusion, and educator competencies.
