Core Advisement
Areas A-E of the core are no different for Teacher Education students than they are for students in other programs, except that middle grades math and science students must follow the area A and D requirements for mathematics and science. The undergraduate bulletin outlines requirements and acceptable courses for those areas.
Area B of the Core Curriculum consists of a required leadership course, Psyc 1001 Foundations of Leadership, and a foreign language course at the 1002 level. Students who decide to take a foreign language 1001 course in preparation for the 1002 course may count the three credit hours earned in the 1001 course in Area F (if there is room).

Attention:Effective Spring, 2010 The University System of Georgia (USG) institutions are no longer accepting any of the following courses to fulfill the course requirements in Area F for Education majors. EDUC 2000, EDUC 2001, EDUC 2002, SPED 2100 and PSYC 2103 cannot be used in Area F. In order to satisfy Area F requirements at all USG institutions, including North Georgia College and State University, you must complete EDUC 2110, EDUC 2120, and EDUC 2130.
