Admission and Application

For information on graduate study admission and application at NGCSU, visit the Office of Graduate Studies.

  1. Program size is limited to 20 educators in a cohort beginning in the summer semester. Educators should submit a complete application before April 1. No other admissions to the ECE, Middle Grade or p12/Secondary programs will occur in the fall or spring semesters.

  3. Interested students applying to the MEd program are strongly encouraged to commit to two years of study in order to complete the MEd program of study in two years. Withdrawing from a course or semester will affect the availability of a course in the future.

 

 
 

Masters of Education

Program Description

This program is for certified teachers or those with an undergraduate degree in education (ECE, Middle Grades, and P-12/Secondary) interested in pursuing advanced study to broaden their professional development through advanced content, including opportunities for endorsements in gifted education, and reading or advanced content. The NGCSU Masters Programs in the School of Education also prepare candidates to understand and conduct research related to school improvement, and to support advancement to terminal degrees in their fields. The program is 36 credit hours in length.

Program Information

Program of Study: Educators in the MEd program will be required to take core courses, content courses, and endorsement courses. A program of study is available  here .   • Educators in the P-12/Secondary program must determine a program of study with an advisor in the first semester of their MEd program. Educators in the P-12/Secondary program are required to take EDUC 6101 and 6102 in the first semester of the MEd program as they are pre-requisites for EDUC 6103. EDUC 6103 must be completed before enrolling in EDUC 6001, and EDUC 6001 is a pre-requisite for the capstone course. Content, endorsement and capstone course sequence will be developed in conjunction with their graduate academic advisor.
