International Student Mentor Volunteer Program Application
The International Student Mentor Volunteer Program is an exciting way to build new friendships and expand cross-cultural understanding while providing support for new international students prior to and after their arrival in Dahlonega, GA. Mentors are responsible for assisting mentees in personal, academic, social, and cultural adjustment while they transition to life at North Georgia and in the United States.
As a mentor, your primary responsibilities include:
- Initiate and maintain contact with assigned mentee at least once per month prior to arrival in the United States. Contact may be established via E-mail, Skype, or Instant Messaging.
- Maintain personal contact with mentee every two weeks after arrival for their initial semester
- Meet for a minimum of 4 hours per month after arrival
- Attend at least 4 on-campus events with your mentee (ISA meetings, Sporting Event, Etc.)
