I've requested web space for my faculty/staff site, now what?
You should receive an email from a member of the web team letting you know that your request has been completed. When you receive that email, you will be ready to access and build your website.
To access your website, login to your work computer, or click here to access your web space via the VPN from off campus.
Select the departmental share (Gdrive) and look for the fac_staff website shortcut.
Double click the fac_staff website shortcut.
You should see a folder labeled with your username (for example I have a folder named msbarton). If you would prefer to have a drive mapping to your website, right click on the shortcut inside the "G Drive" and click map drive, and chose a drive letter.
Double click this folder and you will see an index.html file
Open the index.html file with the tool you will be using to create/edit your website content. (I use notepad)
When you open the index.html file you will notice that we've included the disclaimer that should be on all your pages.
To view your website use the following URL: http://faculty.northgeorgia.edu/username or http://staff.northgeorgia.edu/username
